ABOUT

WHO WE ARE

 WAOC MISSION

Our mission is to empower women in creating greater impact with much more ease.

Our intention is to connect women online to transformational knowledge, practices and communities of mutual support so they can find better ways of taking action for lasting change.

OUR GIVE IT FORWARD COMMITMENTS:
WOMEN, CHILDREN, NATURE

Every time you sign up for one of our Practicals or other fee sessions we:

We came into form in 2017 based on an impulse to give it forward, to share change theories/frameworks that make a difference and to collaborate with others to improve the world around us. We continue to encourage not only personal and professional growth, but personal and professional growth in service of something larger than just ourselves. We encourage you to find your own unique activism. What matters most to you? How might you bring your gifts to bear on opportunities for improvement? How can you support others whose work helps marginalized groups or causes?

No contribution is too small. No effort is wasted. We hope you will find your unique impulse for societal contribution.

This is part of our overall commitment to supporting social change organizations that support women and our future. We are committed to contributing 10% of our topline revenue from tuitions to these giving commitments. We encourage you to support these organizations as well.

OUR ANTI-RACISM COMMITMENT

Systemic racism is a specific structural inequality that pervades our global systems and must be transformed. To that end, we seek to address the root causes of systemic inequities in how we run our initiatives.

We continue to learn and change our own initiatives in ways that reflect the society we all aspire to and encourage our global community to continue evolving their understanding of the roots of social injustice, so that they may take transformational action. Even the smallest acts help transform systemic racism — join an anti-racism book club (or start one up), show up for a peaceful protest, connect with neighbours to support a common need, learn more about the gifts and history of different cultures or groups, support BIPOC-owned businesses, and vote for policy changes that benefit the health of the whole system, rather than the few.

OUR GOAL

To make change mastery skills available to 100,000+ women by 2024, who go on to apply them in their own societally impactful initiatives and decisions.

OUR 7 GUIDING PRINCIPLES

We are not broken. Our potential is accessed through reclaiming our wholeness.

We do not need to be fixed, be more assertive, be less emotional, be good, be sexy, be quiet, etc, etc.

The world is an inherently abundant and awe-inspiring place, a garden of Eden.

We must find our way back to seeing the world and of ourselves as both innately unique filled with potential and fundamentally interdependent, so as to solve the real challenges of our times.

The way forward is inward: to reclaim our center, our fullest agency and our callings in life.

So as to be our most creative selves while sharing our gifts and our power with others.

There is no point in self-development efforts if they are not also in service of those around us, be they our family, our neighbourhood, or the planet.

The choice of how far we define our interdependence is up to us.

Generosity and empathy are core human capacities.

We will build and grow Women Agents of Change guided by those core capacities.

We seek to allow, grow, cultivate, embolden change to emerge with as much ease as possible while also being ambitious in our dreams of impact.

It is not about pushing for change, imposing change or mandating change.

There is power in a community of equals, while also appreciating that we are uniquely different individuals and change agents.

Each is invited to join what we offer at their own preferred pace and in their own way. All women are welcome to discover their own rhythms and free themselves of cultural, societal or gender expectations that may be limiting.

WAOC CREATIVE TEAM

Dorian Baroni | Founder
Executive Coach, Leadership Retreats Faculty & Organizational Advisor

Dorian founded Women Agents of Change in 2017 as a creative project, a purpose-driven social enterprise and a community, so as to democratize access to high quality, transformation leadership upskilling for women across geographies, career stages and socio-economic contexts.

One of her core beliefs is that a change agent’s individual journey towards personal wholeness and a systemic awareness is critical to addressing today's complexity and many challenges. As a business coach and consultant, she knows that the source of all lasting change starts from within and then expands into the capacity to co-create with others. That is why all WAOC practical emphasize the 3 levels of capacity: self-knowledge, interpersonal effectiveness and systemic fluency.

“How you do anything tells you how you do everything. Be more intentional with who you are. Be the mentor you have been wishing for. Consider what stories about yourself you are choosing to bring to life.”

Her experience and research have shown that the core capacity of high-performing teams is their ability to trust each other. Yet building trust across differences is often a low priority. She wants to change that and therefore focuses much of her team and organizational work on those dynamics, as well as a senior team member’s capacity to see the intricacies of the ‘system’ or webs of interdependence they are accountable for guiding.

And as a business woman, she is particularly passionate about the role and power of women’s leadership to support the evolution of reactive global mindsets, inequitable social systems and unsustainable models of economic impact.
